New Series Announcement: April 18, 25, and May 2, 9, 16, 23
I'm excited to host another round of the Birthworker Inclusivity Training Series, presented online. Register here!
Working with childbearing families? This training is for you.
Birthworkers are in a singular position to provide respectful, inclusive care to diverse families. When a new family is celebrated for its uniqueness, rather than encouraged to fit in or hide, they are able to thrive together with dignity. Facilitating families that are free from shame should be high on our list of objectives as birthworkers.
This six part training will provide insight and context for working with families where one or both parents are sexual minorities. For a variety of reasons, people in these communities are unable to be transparent with other healthcare providers. Because we know that the best care, and especially the best outcomes, are achieved through frank, honest communication, it is vital that we strive to include as many members of our community as possible. Empowering, uplifting births are possible for all people, regardless of gender, orientation, relationship status, vocation, or previous life experiences.
